Bart Birkeland
District VII
Bart Birkeland joined the Golden West Board of Directors in February 2010 following the January 1, 2010, expansion of the cooperative to include the Golden West customers who were not already members of the cooperative.
He grew up on a farm and ranch south of Dupree and earned a business administration degree from Northern State University.
The self-proclaimed “golf-aholic” worked 38 years in the rural electric industry, including service as the general manager of the Rosebud Electric Cooperative. Birkeland enjoys retired life with his wife, Karen. The couple lives in Gregory and have two sons.
