Rent Router for Robust Wi-Fi
Internet subscribers may rent a router from Golden West for just $6.00 per month for optimum Wi-Fi connections.
The router is a piece of network hardware that allows communication between your local home network – like your personal computers and other connected devices – and the internet. The router used in home and small networks is more accurately called a residential gateway, but this name isn’t commonly used.
Having an up-to-date, compatible router plays an important role in a positive online experience. Golden West has selected and tested the router we rent, and we are committed to assisting with the router as needed. Previously, we included a router in the cost of internet service to deliver exceptional customer service and provide members with a seamless online experience.
Today members may use their own router, but Golden West can only assist with the router we provide. Those who choose to buy a router should be prepared to do their own setup and troubleshooting. They should also select a router from Golden West’s list of devices that are compatible with our internet service today.
A router currently listed by Golden West as compatible is not guaranteed to remain compatible indefinitely. Router needs may change as we upgrade our service territory to fiber optic technology. Those who rent a router from Golden West will get a new router at no additional cost when an infrastructure change calls for it or if their existing router fails.
